Up in the forest
This is my daily walk. A hop, skip and a jump from home. Usually I head up after lunch for a brisk half hour walk. This morning, with the sun low behind a hanging mist I dusted off my camera, quickly got some charge in my battery and trotted up.

Back to The Cotswolds
For August Bank Holiday weekend we booked ourselves a little stay at Honeysuckle. Hooray! Did you know it’s been almost two years since we stayed here? We moved up here in January 2013 and moved to East Sussex almost a year ago to the day. Late Summer at Honeysuckle Cottage – Daylesford Organic Farm Cornwell…

Wilderness Festival 2013
Some photos from our day at The Wilderness Festival 2013 at Cornbury Estate in Charlbury. Nicely for us just a fifteen minute drive from home. Nobody complained about being bored or tired (big tick). Ice cream was enjoyed by all. Parents are now knackered. So are the girls. Goodnight x

Dusk (and Kevin calling Oscar). A little (unedited) film.
Cornwell evening from Anknel and Burblets on Vimeo. A lot of people seem to like my Instagrams of the daily view and Alex had been asking me for some time what it sounded like out here. So I finally read the instructions on how to use my 5d to shoot video. It took ages to…

Camping in Kent
Last weekend we filled our car with pretty, warm bedding and off we drove, down the M40, onto the M25 and Kentward bound. And because we had filled our car beyond breaking point with pillows, duvets, gumboots and raincoats, we only had a tiny bit of room to fit a small box of food and…

The Wilderness Treasure Hunt
Last weekend we wrapped up warm and headed over to the magical Cornbury Estate for the Wilderness Treasure Hunt. In the lead-up to the Wilderness Festival in August, local residents are invited along to a few special events which are just brilliant for the children – and indeed fun for the grown-ups too. A taste…

Hark, hark! The bluebells are out
We had some lovely weather this weekend – and a lovely trip to Foxholes to see the bluebells in bloom. Edith took her camera and Astrid played by her favourite tree in the clearing where the bluebells flower. We came here last year, on one of our trips to Daylesford. To get to Foxholes, take…

A lovely hotel discovery (eight actually) for us and the kiddos
We’re always on the lookout for amazing child-friendly hotels in the UK and Europe, so when Luxury Family Hotels asked if I’d have a look at their selection my immediate response was a very big YES please! There are eight hotels in the Luxury Family Hotels stable, all set in very grand and marvellous historic…

Amsterdam to Oxfordshire
Being here has certainly given me a lot of headroom. The past few days I’ve got both girls at school and nursery and the builders seem to not be here quite so much and things can begin to be put in place. Finishing touches. And time for reflection. The snow’s gone now. Thank goodness. We…

Sister Mag Daylesford White Christmas feature
A Daylesford White Christmas feature and recipes by moi – from page 132 to 163 in the December issue of Sister Magazine. You’ll see the photos from my rainy market garden trip (where I had my eureka moment) and the recipes I spent the October mid-term week creating up at Honeysuckle Cottage with the girls.…

Laura Ashley and visiting Manchester
Isn’t it funny when you find some photos in your Lightroom that totally slipped your mind. And what a lovely surprise it was to find the Laura Ashley Press show photos here over the weekend. In amongst all the busy moving plans everything else really has fallen by the wayside. Apart from the book I’m…
