I’d heard about Baileys some time ago but didn’t realise we were close until Karine at Bodie and Fou mentioned it to me on Instagram last week. That was that. It was the official weekend outing and on Saturday morning we made our packed lunches for the car and off we headed. Westward ho.
It was a thrilling moment, arriving.
Through the door we were greeted by a grove of olive trees, their roots wrapped in hessian. The cool interior and the warm lighting immediately relaxed us. Beautiful, smiling staff in linen aprons greeted us. Baileys Home and Garden was love at first sight.
The shop is immaculately laid out.
One takes a natural journey from space to space barely being able to take in all the wonder at once. The amazingness of the place was overwhelming for me as I tried to look and photograph at the same time. Every corner I turned was just filled with beautiful, wondrous order.
Pieces were so carefully chosen and arranged.
Everything was perfect and both Kevin and I knew immediately this is the place we will come to when we buy our house next year. It has all the right door handles, hooks, fabric, lighting, glassware – you name it it’s here and we love it. Especially the 1930s bathroom set. And the hand covered linen sofas.
It was so hard to choose the photos to show you. Here is a selection that I hope gives you an idea of just how wonderful this place is. An absolute must-visit for the modern rustic interiors lover.
